What are some ideas for luxury getaways and romantic escapes for couples? When I think of a luxurious escape, tropical island resorts immediately pop into my mind. I envision a secluded island in the middle of an ocean, surrounded by crystal clear turquoise water. I see a private bungalow or suite, either over the water or right at it’s edge. With Valentine’s Day so close, I decided to check out what types of luxury escapes are available this time of year, with a special romantic touch built in.

More than one reason
Well, okay…so Valentine’s isn’t the only reason I decided to gawk over the computer screen for so many hours, to write this post. Youtube also has something to do with it.
I’ve become particularly fond of a couple of different music channels recently. They all display incredible drone footage of various islands and breathtaking views of nature around the world. Whenever I have one of these channels on, I have to fight to look away from the screen. The footage really is amazing and sends me right into a spiral of longing.

Why We Love them: I couldn’t choose between the two resorts…can’t you tell?
There are two types of luxury for two types of people, and these two resorts are the perfect representation of both. The Jamahkiri Resort & Spa is luxurious for it’s more refined aestetics, while the Koh Tao Cabana resort is luxurious with all of it’s natural charm and treehouse inspired decor.
Both resorts have many of the same features such as minibar options, spa or jacuzzi tubs, pools, daily housekeeping and other extras for a super comfortable stay. They are both applauded for their excellent staff and have hundreds of satisfied customers. The only real difference is the style…but alas, I’ve a heart for both 🙂 Whichever you prefer, you are gauranteed to feel pampered, relaxed, and thrilled to have chosen that resort.
Fiji – Castaway Island Fiji
Why We Love It: I’m really not sure what I love the most about this resort…the bungalows themselves, or the private beach, or the attentive staff. All of it comes together nicely to create a one of a kind island getaway. The villas feature beautiful hand painted “Tapa Cloth” throughout, black out drapes, modern bathrooms, and elegant decor. Family friendly, sound proof villas in the heart of paradise at a price that can’t be beat. Perfect.

Why We Love It: The Moroccan culture has always fascinated me, and I’ve been fortunate enough to experience some of it over the years. There use to be a Moroccan restaurant nearby where I live, that close friends introduced me to years ago. After my first visit to the restaurant, I was all too happy for an opportunity to go there from then on.
The food was always amazing, as were the belly dancers that were the entertainment. The colors, the fabrics, the intricate designs, the entire eating experience is truly one to remember. That being said, it should be no surprise that this resort instantly caught my attention when searching for luxury destinations. The fact that it offers so many luxurious options, only adds to my reasons for wanting to visit. It has definitely made it to the top of my bucket list, as it should yours!
